Cordata is a controller for audio systems you already own. It is built to keep your data yours. There are no Cordata accounts, and there is no Cordata server that receives, stores, or analyzes your personal information. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes.
Cordata's developer operates no backend that collects your data. Your listening history, ratings, library metadata, and settings are stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). This data syncs between your Apple devices under your Apple Account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer cannot read it.
If you grant permission, Cordata uses Apple's MusicKit to read your Apple Music library and the Apple Music catalog, for example to show playlists you can bridge to your own library and to fetch artist images. Cordata does not stream or store Apple Music audio. You can revoke this access at any time in system Settings.
Cordata connects directly to the HQPlayer, UPnP, and OpenHome devices on your local network to control playback and browse their libraries. Audio and control commands travel between your device and your hardware; they are not routed through any third party.
To label your library with accurate metadata, Cordata may query public music-data services. Only non-personal identifiers (such as track, artist, and album names, or an acoustic fingerprint of a file you own) are sent. Never your identity or listening history. These services include MusicBrainz, AcoustID, TheAudioDB, the Cover Art Archive, and Wikipedia, each governed by its own privacy policy.
These integrations are off unless you turn them on, and each sends data only to that respective service under its own terms.
If you run the optional Cordata companion on your own machine, audio analysis (such as dynamic range and tempo) happens on that machine, on your network. It is operated by you, not by the developer.
Cordata contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not build an advertising profile and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Cordata is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
This policy may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
